Grey’s Anatomy star Camilla Luddington, who plays Dr. Jo Wilson on the show, has given an exciting season 22 update, as Link’s fate hangs in the balance. Luddington has played Jo since 2012, and has been a series regular since season 10 of the show, with her popular character tying the knot with on-screen husband Atticus “Link” Lincoln.
The explosive Grey’s Anatomy season 21 finale left a number of fates unclear. One of the characters at risk was Jo’s husband Link, who was about to perform late-night surgery when the hospital was rocked by an explosion. While none of the character futures were sealed, season 22 should shine a light on Link’s fate.
In a post on her Instagram account, Luddington shared a couple of pictures of her with her girlfriends enjoying the sun together. She captioned the post, mentioning how she was having a final girls trip before returning to the show. She also made a subtle reference to her character Jo, and the fate of Jo’s husband, Link:
What This Means For The Link & Jo’s Season 22 Prospects
Any Possibility Is On The Table
Nothing is confirmed yet regarding Link’s fate, and how this will impact Jo. Considering the couple are happily married, and they have a child together, and are expecting two more, it would be a devastating loss for Jo if Link were to die in the explosion, especially as the show has set the couple up for a life of bliss.
Our Take On Link’s Grey’s Anatomy Fate
It Seems Unthinkable, But Sometimes That’s Life
It feels unthinkable that the show would choose to kill off a character as beloved as Link. If Link is to die, it would be one of the most upsetting departures in Grey’s Anatomy history. This is primarily because of how devastating the timing of his demise will be.
Link has been one of the beloved characters in the show since his debut in season 15, which means that he has been in the show for a while now. Grey’s Anatomy season 22 is poised to be a dramatic and explosive season, and there are many different avenues the story could go down.
Grey’s Anatomy could yet see at least one major character killed off in the coming season. After all, it has a track record of doing so. Still, there’s hope that Link survives the ordeal.
